Maybe you remember the big snowstorms that swept the US at the same time that Richelle was on her book tour for Last Sacrifice? Unfortunately it resulted in her having to cancel the Minneapolis signing.

A few brave -and just a little bit crazy (in a good way) - Vampire Academy fans, made it to the Mall of America and decided to have their own signing. In case you missed that, you really need to read Richelle's blog post: The greatest signing I never had. Here's a taste of what you get. I present to you, Fauxchelle:

When the signing was canceled, Richelle promised she'd be back in the spring, when the snow cleared, and that's what's happening tomorrow. Sunday, May 22 is the new date for the signing. So if you're in the neighborhood, make sure you don't miss it. Because, not only will you finally be able to attend Richelle's signing. She has also promised to read from Bloodlines!!! You certainly don't want to miss that! Hopefully, all of us who can't attend this signing will hear all about it afterwards.

For all the details, go to Richelle's blog. Mall of America have also posted additional rules for the signing on their website. You can read about those on ShadowKissed.com.

It's been a while since last time. Good to be back, and let's see how much we manage to catch up!

I thought I'd start the catch-up blogging with a couple of time sensitive blog posts.

First off, I wanted to let you know (or remind you) about a really awesome giveaway that's going on over at Stephanies Pellegrin's blog. I think I first read about it in a tweet from ShadowKissed.net.

Stephanie is a fan of Vampire Academy, and was thrilled when she happened to find a display for the books in her grocery store.
This is what she found:

Stephanie writes that she wasn't sure whether the signatures on the bookplates were real or not. However, if you've been keeping tabs on Richelle's tweets prior to the Last Sacrifice tour, you might have read about her bookplate signing (and also about her search for the perfect signing pen ;-).

Stephanie took the opportunity to grab a few of the bookplates and other things, and she's giving away five prize packs with a bookplate, a bracelet and a pin in each.

The giveaway is super easy to enter, so you should really visit Stephanie's blog and fill out the form, especially considering the awesome prizes! The giveaway runs through Friday January 14, and its international, so hurry up!

Hopefully most of you were able to watch the Last Sacrifice webcast from Barnes and Noble in Tribeca, NY yesterday. I watched it, and loved it! Richelle Mead looked great, she was funny, seemed relaxed and answered reader questions in a very gracious manner.

If you were unlucky enough to not be able to watch the webcast, you still have the chance! It's now archived and is up on the website where we watched it originally, Visual Webcaster. Clicking here will take you directly to the Last Sacrifice Event page.

If you for example have a slow internet connection, or for any other reason aren't able to watch streaming video, (or if you maybe don't want to watch it yet, because Richelle reads a bit of Last Sacrifice in it), Shadowkissed.com has a great recap of what Richelle said during the webcast.

I loved the entire webcast, and the fact that we, who otherwise wouldn't be able to go to one of these signings, could still feel like we were attending, even if we didn't actually meet Richelle. :-)

My favorite part, though, was the announcement from Richelle that the next issue of Entertainment Weekly (out on Friday), is going to be covering the spin-off series, what it's about, characters etc. That is so incredibly exciting, and not just because we get to hear about the next book, but also because a major entertainment magazine, read all over the world, highlights the Vampire Avademy series! The more people that know about the series, the bigger the chance that we'll get a movie.

If you follow Richelle on Facebook or Twitter, you know that she was up almost before dawn today, to do press for a New York TV Station, Pix 11.

After a little digging, I found the video clip of her interview online. (Don't you just love the internet, and how you're able to see these things, even if you're not in New York, for example?)

Thank you to wpix.com for uploading this video, so we can all watch and enjoy it!

Richelle talks about which things are going to get resolved in Last Sacrifice, and the interviewer talk quite a lot about the possibility of a Vampire Academy movie, and what that could mean for Richelle.

Also, don't forget that tonight is the first stop on Richelle Mead's signing tour, and we are all invited! The signing is going to be webcast. It starts at 7 pm EST, in Barnes & Noble in Tribeca, NY, but you can already register at the site where you'll be able to see the webcast. Richelle posted the link again yesterday on her Facebook page.

So if you're planning on attending the webcast online, make sure you go to the Last Sacrifice Release Party Webcast Registration page, and register before 7 pm EST, so you're prepared. :-)

Some of you may remember that I posted a couple of weeks ago about an ongoing charity auction, where a lot of authors were donating signed books and other things for people to bid on. The money raised will go to either Doctors Without Borders or Fisher House Foundation, and the winning bidder decides how the money is divided.

Richelle Mead is the last author out, closing a month of amazing auctions. In her auction, you are bidding on ALL her Vampire Academy books, signed and personalized.

Since I wrote my original post about this auction, there has also been a Molnija mark necklace made by Cadsawan Jewelry added to the items you're bidding on!

So hop on over to the For What It's Worth blog to read about the rules of bidding, and then place a bid. There is currently only one bid, and it stands at $200. The auction ends at Midnight on Sunday (EST). (In Europe we are setting our clocks back this weekend. I guess this means that the time difference between Europe and the US will be different this week? So watch out for that! :-)

For those of us who won't be able to go to one of the signings, there are also some awesome news!

There is going to be Last Sacrifice release parties in some stores, and there you'll be able to win prizes and get autographed bookplates. We'll hopefully get a list of those cities in a couple of days.

What's most exciting to me, though, is the fact that the New York signing will be webcast live! That is so awesome! We'll be able to participate in the Q&A, and see the signing. I don't know if the webcast is going to be recorded for people who won't be able to watch it as it's happening. Hopefully it is.

Richelle has signing policies written down in her LiveJournal post about the tour dates, so it could be a good idea to read through those if you're planning to go to a signing.

Wow, we really are getting close now!

I happened upon a tweet from teamsheltie talking about a Halloween Charity Book Auction that the For What It's Worth blog is hosting.

This is a really great thing, where the money raised goes to Doctors Without Borders or The Fisher House Foundation. Since I'm in Sweden, I don't know anything about The Fisher House Foundation, but I give monthly to Doctors Without Borders, and admire their work so much.

Throughout the rest of October there will be a new auction every three days, featuring signed books from different authors. The first one has already ended, but the Meg Cabot auction ends today, so make sure you bid on that soon if you're interested.

So why am I mentioning this, you ask? :-) Well, because one of the authors who've donated books to the auction is Richelle Mead. Her books will be auctioned off between October 29th and 31st. She is actually the author that closes the entire auction series. And she will be signing ALL of her Vampire Academy books for the person who wins the auction, including Last Sacrifice!

Click here to see a list of all the auctions.

If you want to read all the details about how the bidding works, you can visit the current auction.
All the auctions are INTERNATIONAL. :D

It's time to gear up for this year's New York Comic Con. It begins today, and just like with San Diego Comic Con, there is going to be a Vampire Academy presence at different places of the convention.

Richelle Mead won't be there, but people connected to Vampire Academy in different ways, will be. So if you're going to NYCC, make sure you check these people out!

Penguin Teen:
As you know, Penguin is the publisher of Vampire Academy. They have their own booth, #2414, so be sure to visit them. At San Diego they had an awesome booth with quite a few Vampire Academy goodies (and books, of course).

Arcane Vault:
Arcane Vault is where you can find official Vampire Academy merchandise. They are arranging something very exciting, namely a kind of Vamire Academy treasure hunt.
All you have to do is find them walking around and say Hi to win over $100.00 of Arcane Vault merchandise. So be sure to look for the Red Molnija mark key chain on a bag.
Note: They are only going to be at the convention today!

Cadsawan Jewelry:
Cadsawan Jewelry make official Vampire Academy jewelry, and Janet from Cadsawan Jewelry is going to be at Comic Con. So if you find someone wearing her beautiful Vampire Academy jewelry, it's probably Janet herself!

Emma Vieceli:
Emma is the graphics artist for the upcoming Vampire Academy graphic novel. You will be able to find her in several places. In her own word you can find her "loitering" :-) at thePenguin and Oni booths. She has signing times at the Comic News Insider booth on: Friday: 6-7pm, Saturday: 12-1pm, Sunday: 3:30-4:30pm.

Are any of you going to NYCC? If so, I'm so jealous, and I want to hear all about it! :D

I lost an entire day reading Shiloh Walker's The Missing (really good book!), and I feel I'm terribly behind. A lot of amazing news the last couple of days!

First, great news for everyone living in the Toronto area! Tomorrow, on September 25 at 2pm, Richelle Mead will be signing there! I realize we're a bit late with these news, but I hope that everyone who live in the area manage to get the information early enough.

The details for the signing:

Yonge and Eglinton Indigo
2300 Yonge Street
Toronto, Ontario M4P 1E4
(416)544-0049

Author Carrie Jones will be signing with Richelle, and before them, Becca Fitzpatrick & Ally Carter are also going to be signing, at the same place, at 12 pm. This is a great opportunity to meet several wonderful authors at the same time!

Richelle has posted a list for what is normal signing procedure, on her website, and this is what it says:
* Events usually start with me reading briefly and then doing a Q&A with the audience.

* I will personalize one book with your name and then put just my signature in up to two more, unless noted.

*Unless it is noted below, you may bring any book (even if you already own it) from any of my series. If there's one you want and haven't purchased, try to buy it at the hosting store as thanks for bringing me by! It helps them bring me back in the future. Remember the signing limits above, though.

* I will take pictures with readers, if time permits.

* All events are free, unless noted

Richelle has said that she probably won't be back in Toronto for at least a year, so if you have the opportunity to go and meet her - do it!

If you're going to the signing, we'd love it if you send us pictures!
