We're a bit behind with posting news. There is so much cool stuff happening right now that it's almost hard to keep up with everything, let alone post about it. :-)

Last weekend we wrote about Richelle Mead being nominated for two Teen Read Awards in Canada. Well, she won in the category of Best Teen Series, beating out, among others, The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare and House of Night by P.C. and Kristin Cast.

Congratulations to Richelle for the big win!

This is a picture that Sally Sparrow tweeted of Richelle accepting the award and giving her speech:

Richelle tweeted after receiving the award:
Another really cool thing happened that night! Not only did Richelle win an award, her tweet also ended up among the top tweets of the night. :-)

reverieBR posted a beautiful picture of Richelle holding her award:

Kelley Armstrong also posted a wonderful pic of her and Richelle, with their respective awards. Kelley won in the category Best Canadian Read.

For those of us who weren't able to attend the awards ceremony, Lainey Gossip has an article where you can read a little about what it was like. It sounds like it was really fun!

I really feel like books and reading are getting more attention these days, and I love it! In the past, there has been more of a focus on tv shows and movie franchises when it comes to what's talked about in pop culture, and especially for teens. It's great when reading is cool!
